Go Get ‘em Tiger

By Hoosier Advocate | February 23, 2010

Following Trent (“Tiger”) Van Haaften’s* entrance into Indiana’s 8th congressional race, he took issue with his opponent examining his record as a state legislator. (Van Haaften lacks his own campaign organization so he must rely on his local party for issuing such statements.)

In Van Haaften’s view examining a legislator’s voting record is “personal” and “ugly”. Clearly, Van Haaften hopes this will be a campaign which ignores his track record as a tax and spend liberal. But trying to label a look at his voting record as “personal” will not detract voters in the 8th district from such a necessary exercise.

Meanwhile, Frugal Hoosiers also takes a look at Van Haaften’s rocky, comma-ridden start to the campaign which kicked off to all 7 of his supporters.

(* Van Haaften’s nickname of “Tiger” originates with the expensive golf junkets that lobbyists have taken him on, including a luxurious San Antonio golf tournament that even included a $350 pro shop gift card.)
