From the Windbag Mailbag
We received an unsolicited email from the political blog City-County Observer, which led to the following email exchange. Although neither website is truly a newspaper, we’ve gone the extra-mile and published a print edition today, with a picture of that edition below. Perhaps it’ll help kick-start your Tuesday.

High Flying Steele
The Daily Caller reports that RNC Chairman Steele has quite the penchant for spending money. This bit really jumped out at us:
Once on the ground, FEC filings suggest, Steele travels in style. A February RNC trip to California, for example, included a $9,099 stop at the Beverly Hills Hotel, $6,596 dropped at the nearby Four [...]
Zoeller Jumps In
Abdul Hakim Shabazz reports that Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller will join 13 other states in suing over the new health care law. Zoeller believes that the individual mandate that all citizens have insurance is an overreach of the Commerce Clause because it requires individuals to buy a commercial product based on citizenship. In [...]
Brad the Senator? No, Brad the Sheriff!
The rest of Indiana is now starting to understand what us southern Hoosiers have known all along – Brad Ellsworth has an obsession problem. To be more precise, he has an obsession with being sheriff.
Ellsworth’s newly unveiled website, EllsworthForIndiana2010.com, has all the trappings of a sheriff’s candidate’s website. It’s brown and yellow, features all sorts [...]
Massive GOP Fundraiser in Evansville
The C&P reports today that a massive fundraiser will be held in Evansville in April at Steve Chancellor’s home. The two highest-ranking Republicans in Congress — House Minority Leader Rep. John Boehner, R-Ohio, and Senate Minority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky. — will attend along with Dan Quayle, Gov. Mitch Daniels, Sen. Richard Lugar, R-Ind., [...]
It’s Coming
Bad for Indiana
It hasn’t been a good week for Brad Ellsworth. First, his party forced him into a career-ending vote for the most atrocious legislation in a generation. Then poll after poll came out suggesting Richard Nixon would stand a better chance at election to the Senate than he (for he record, Nixon is dead).
Now the Indiana [...]
Poll Results: 8th District Goes Red
A recent poll leaked by Frugal Hoosiers shows that voters in Indiana’s 8th congressional district are incredibly unhappy with the recently-passed health care reform and the guy in Congress representing them. Ellsworth’s ultimate “yes” vote for the bill will not help his doomed Senate run. The full text of the poll is available here (pdf). [...]
Brad Ellsworth in Over His Head?
Indiana pundit Brian Howey was not kind to Brad Ellsworth this week. He writes:
“Ellsworth appears to be wavering, not only to just HPI, but to a number of Democrats we talked to during all the St. Patrick’s Day events yesterday. The Ellsworth office/campaign no longer returns calls just seeking his current status. We heard this [...]
